Behind the Scenes – How It All Began...
|
In the Summer of 2006, entrepreneur Kurt Lohse decided something should be done to make shopping easier, more effective and more entertaining for all. Pondering daily beneath a massive array of arcing Tesla coils, Kurt relied on his web publishing experience as founder and CEO of Keycode.com (an award
winning* web business) to come up with a solution. And then it hit him. Real people—not ad agencies—should show shoppers what makes hot new products hot! And so, the idea for an online video review service is born. But . . . what should the new web service be called?

Later that summer, Kurt was sitting with his 3-year-old daughter when he asked her if she wanted to watch “Finding Nemo” for the 100th time. Lohse’s little girl declared, “No daddy, I want a new-vie,” putting the words “new” and “movie” together in the way only kids can do. A light bulb goes on in Kurt’s head, and he decides to use the name “Nuuvy” for his new online video review service because the name is short, unique, easy to say and memorable. The name Nuuvy spontaneously represents the theme of providing exciting product reviews on video in a “nuu” and fun way.

A movie doesn't have to be boring in order for it to deliver a powerful message. Equally as much, online shopping doesn’t have to be boring in order for it to be informative and useful.

NuuvyMakers will forever strive to showcase new and exciting products on video in a fun and interesting way. Who qualifies to be a NuuvyMaker? Anyone who has a video camera and likes to show off cool new stuff can produce Nuuvys and post them on Nuuvy.com.

Audiences of all types will delight in watching Nuuvy videos. They’ll be able to see how regular people use and react to products through active and entertaining video demonstrations as opposed to reading a series of anonymous and mundane reviews with product stills and technical specs.

NuuvyMaker Tips

Nuuvy Reviews must be honest and unbiased. No advertising, please.

Nuuvy Reviews should be informative and entertaining. Show us everything you love about a product and why.
|
Nuuvy Reviews must not exceed eight minutes in length. No epic Nuuvys, please.
|
Nuuvy Reviews must be clean. Nuuvys containing profanity, nudity or other inappropriate material will be left on the cutting room floor. To see what Nuuvy considers inappropriate material, read Nuuvy Regulations.

Tip of the day: Sometimes it is easier to ask a friend to interview you about the reasons you like the product you are reviewing so that your review is more conversational with the viewers.

-Nuuvy Reviews should include the following:
1. Several views of the product, including close-ups, medium shots and wides
2. A sneak preview or visual representation on how the product works
3. The cost of the product and maybe even a price range of the various brands
4. Places to find the product for purchase
5. The NuuvyMaker’s honest opinion |

Nuuvy.com should be a place to find great products, and therefore we encourage NuuvyMakers to be honest in recommending truly great products. You may create and post reviews of products you don’t like or that have safety issues, or you can even discuss the features you don’t like about the things you recommend, but try to focus on helping people find stuff you think represents a good buy.

Calling All CameraHeads!

If you help us make the most helpful and most entertaining Nuuvy reviews possible, we’ll help you earn some serious money!
|
Sign up as an official Nuuvy member and you can quickly move up the ranks from NuuvyGoer (able to rate videos, comment, and submit your own Nuuvys), to NuuvyMaker, NuuvyStar, and CameraHead. When you make your first Nuuvy Review, you can earn $1-$5 depending on the quality of the videos you make. The more videos you make, the better chance you have at earning more money and achieving higher NuuvyMaker status. At the top level our CamerHead members can qualify to earn up to $10 for each video they submit by consistently making Nuuvys that are both informative and entertaining.

In addition to video submission payments, we will also give our NuuvyMakers the chance to earn even more money by awarding additional cash prizes to the most viewed Nuuvys of the month. There will also be frequent promotional periods in which all Nuuvy Members will be able to earn cash for referring friends who submit videos on Nuuvy.com.
Above all, we encourage Nuuvy users to have fun and help us create a better shopping environment. Nuuvy.com will ultimately be as good as the community that embraces it.

All registered Nuuvy members can rate any NuuvyMaker’s work. When reviewing a Nuuvy, please take into account the entertainment value of the piece, the helpfulness of the piece and whether the NuuvyMaker was truthfully reviewing the product, or if the piece seemed biased and more suitable for advertising.

Nuuvy members will be asked to cast one vote representing all three of the following categories:.
